Privacy Policy – Boundrees™

Effective Date: August 8, 2025

Boundrees™ is a parental control app designed to help families foster safe digital habits. We take your family’s privacy seriously—especially your child’s. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data, and how you can manage or delete it at any time.

1. What Data We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to deliver our core safety and monitoring features.

For Children (Monitored Users):

  • Device location (with parents’ approval)
  • App usage statistics
  • Web activity data (if applicable)
  • Text communication

For Parents (Primary Users):

  • Email address
  • Account and billing details
  • App preferences and settings

2. What We Don’t Do

We never sell, rent, or share your child’s data with advertisers, marketers, or any third parties. We do not expose your child’s data to other users or services. We do not allow behavioral advertising or profiling of children.

3. Data Visibility and Control

Parents can view all collected data about their child directly within the app. You may delete your child’s data instantly with a single button inside the child’s profile page. Your own parent account data can be viewed and deleted the same way.

4. How to Delete Data

In-App Settings – Navigate to your profile or your child's profile and tap “Delete Data”.

Data deletion is irreversible and includes backups, unless legally required to retain for a limited time.

5. Marketing Emails & Communication

We only send marketing or tips emails if you opt in. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in our emails or in app settings. We’ll still send transactional messages as needed (e.g., billing).

6. Data Storage & Security

All data is encrypted at rest and in transit (e.g., AES-256, TLS 1.2+). Only verified parent accounts can access child data. We perform regular security reviews.

7. Legal Basis for Processing

  • COPPA (U.S.) – Verifiable parental consent is required before collecting data from children under 13.
  • GDPR (EU) – Data is collected and processed with explicit consent; access and erasure rights are provided.
